Martin Luther King Jr - the genuine leader

HATE BEGETS HATE

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violaeence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction...The chain reaction of evil--hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars--must be broken."

POWER / JUSTICE

"Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice. Justice at its best is love correcting everything that stands against love."

From WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE: CHAOS OR COMMUNITY?" 1967 address.

  1. I remember reading that King was a communist, a homosexual, a womanizer, and various other serious and drooly accusations reputedly (and actually) "confirmed" by the FBI. It turns out the FBI was turned upon him in Full Bore, to ruin his reputation. Few reputations can survive scrutiny, much less ideologically-driven fabrication by poll-driven professional scare-mongers. My reputation was ruined by a single and very unintelligent judge -- Judge Gardiner. I have nothing but awe for King who survived the poor-mouthing of a multi-million-dollar campaign by a network of political alliances bent on destroying him.
